"I took a long detour from art and paintings after my ‘O’ levels. While painting has always been a passion, there were many other distractions. Academic pursuits and work commitments have had to take precedence over other interests during those periods of absences. I never forget how much I love to draw since that day I was told to copy from a Disney poster of Goofy at the age of seven. That enthusiasm to pick up the brushes and paint kept going. Art Organizations
| American Watercolor Society | Each year AWS holds a juried exhibition of watercolors from artists throughout the world. Deadline for submissions ends in Nov 15 for the 144th Annual International Exhibition. |
| National Watercolor Society | Like AWS, it is one of the more prestigious organizations for watercolour artists. The deadline for submission to its annual exhibition ends around June. |
| Singapore Watercolour Society | One of the most prominent members is Ong Kim Seng. Apart from the members' links, there're hardly any resources available to public. There're no annual juried shows to encourage new talents. Activities are strictly for members only. |
| Organization of Illustrators Council | Singapore Illustrators and Illustrations. There're monthly portrait and figure drawing sessions open to public who signed up. Unlike older artist organizations in Singapore who are member focused, OIC is certainly true to its spirit in encouraging and promoting arts and illustrations. Vibrant and exciting. |
| Federation of Art Societies | Remember those old paintings from scenes of Bali and Singapore River? The online portfolios of elderly Singapore artists often have such popular themes and they're available here. Other than that, hardly any news of activities and developments available here. Nostalgic. |
